CMR Racing traveled to Circus City Speedway in Peru, IN this past Saturday night. With an estimated 90 plus cars in the pit area it was a great setting for some racing. Chad and the team would start the night by drawing a 27 pill for the night. That would put them on the inside of row 2 for the 3rd heat race in the senior class for the night.

“We ran practice and the car was not setting into the track really well due to it still being pretty wet and slick. We guessed on the setup for the heat race and I guessed wrong. I had the team tighten the car up and I had them go a little to much on setup and just could not get the car through the corners like I needed to. I finally figured out how to get the car to turn better using the brakes in the corner but by then the field was already gone. I caught back up with them at the end but it was to little to late. So we took the 4th place finish in the heat and we will move forward onto the feature event. ” Chad Orr stated after his heat race.

The team would roll off 16th in the feature event. The track crew re-worked the top side of the track before the features and was able to provide some great two lane racing. "We started the race just getting through the first lap or two to make sure everyone could sort out and then we started to move forward. I made a few mistakes up top on the cushion in turns one and two and learned quickly how to get through it and then turn 4 developed a small rut in the middle of the turn and we were able to run the right rear through it to really get a push down the straight away. We were doing OK and then about three quarter of the way through the event I seen Joe (Leek) flipping in the air as we came out of turn two. I am not sure if it was a big clump of mud or parts from his car but something knocked the front floor pan into the steering box and my feet. During the red flag I was able to kick the floor pan back out away from my feet but it was hampering the rest of the race with the steering. With the steering and the right rear sealing back over after it cooled off we just took another spot or two and finished 7th. So we can not complain about that at all and I am glad Joe and everyone else in the wreck were OK. It looked nasty as we came out of the turn and see them pirouetting in the air like that."
