Jim Falls, Wisconsin (May 27, 2018) The Eagle Valley Speedway featured the UMSS Sprint Car Series with both winged and non-winged traditional sprint cars. They were joined by the WISSOTA Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, and EVS Hornets. Feature winners included Brooke Tatnell, Cam Schaffer, Dylan Kromschroeder, Shane Halopka, Danny Richards, George Richards, and Chad Prissel.
The WISSOTA Super Stock heats were topped by Adam Soltis and Andy Miskowic as an impressive Dylan Kromschroeder drove from outside of the third row to his first career feature win. It was Wayne Dean early taking the lead from the pole position and looking stout out front. Kromschroeder worked his way to second quickly and first caught Dean, hounded him for a few laps, and then took the position. From there on out, he set sail into the night, stretching his advantage to the finish line as the Super Stocks ran a caution free event. Troy Fransway found his groove and was able to motor past Dean late in the race to earn the runner up position. Dean, Adam Soltis, and Kevin Hager rounded out the top five.
The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds saw Shane Halopka, Nick Lindquist, and Calvin Iverson win heats as the feature took three tries to get under green initially. Once racing, Steve Hass took early command as Calvin Iverson drove from the third row into second and Shane Halopka used the high groove to secure third. On lap four, Iverson drove low under the leader and assumed the point and Halopka followed him into second. A yellow flag slowed the action, but under green it was Iverson leading again. However, one lap later, Halopka drove past in the higher groove and took control of the event.
By the halfway point, Gunnar Watkins took third and Bob Wood moved into fourth. It was Derek Haas on the move as he drove under Wood for fourth. A caution flag once again slowed the pace, but as the green flew again, Derek Hass continued his assault and took third from Watkins. At the checked flag, it was Halopka over Iverson with Hass, Watkins, and Wood finishing in the top five.
Now making it back to back to back weeks, Danny Richards scored his third consecutive sweep in the WISSOTA Street Stocks winning both the heat and feature. Jay Kesan won the other heat in the seven car. It took four tries to get under green, but once there, the Streeters drove the distance. Parker Anderson took the early lead, but by lap three, Richards had already motored from seventh to second. He was able to catch Anderson and after a fine side by side battle Richards eased out front at the halfway point. Anderson didn’t let Richards get away as he stayed close the rest of the race and finished in second. Several car lengths behind, Kesan finished third over Kyle Howland and Ron Hanestad.
Dominating once again, it was George Richards in the WISSOTA Pure Stocks ss he and Tyler Wahlstrom raced door to door early and Tucker Quinn followed in the shadows. Richards inched into the lead and Quinn followed into second and Wahlstrom moved to third. As the laps counted down, the top three extended away from fourth running Michael Grover who himself gapped fifth finishing Nicholas Hazelton. It was Wahlstrom and Richards winning heats earlier in the evening.
The EVS Hornet heats were topped by Chad Prissel and Jake Halterman as Halterman was interviewed as the feature winner after the event but failed post-race inspection. It was Halterman leading every lap as Prissel ran in second, followed by Dean Butler in third. After a brief caution, the front cars ran to the finished unchanged. It was Prissel scored officially as the winner over Butler. A three-car battle which was close at the finish line saw Armond Love in third, Jason Helgeson in fourth and Dan Prissel rounded out the top five.
The non-winged traditional sprint cars saw Cam Schafer use the pole position to take the lead and never look back as they reeled off 25 nonstop laps. Schaffer was flawless the entire distance as Brad Peterson bested Anna Hippe although she challenged for the position throughout the event and had pulled even with two laps remaining. Mike Mueller and Blake Anderson rounded out the top five. Schafer eared a sweep after winning an earlier heat as Hippe won the second heat.
The winged sprint cars were absolutely dominated by Brooke Tatnell as he once again, following up on his feature win from last year, was untouchable. Jamey Ogston and Chase Viebrock won their respective heats, but Tatnell had no issues come feature time. Second finishing Ryan Bowers was in turn two as the checkers dropped for Tatnell as Viebrock was scored in third. Ogston finished fourth over Lance Fassbender.

There will be no Modifieds. Oium Well Drilling and Oium Black Top will once again give away one bicycle each for both a boy and a girl just as they do every race night at the Eagle Valley Speedway!
