Flud Wins Twice and Laplante Returns to Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Victory Lane During Stars and Stripes Shootout Finale

Inside Line Promotions – ARKOMA, Okla. (July 7, 2018) – Frank Flud captured a pair of $1,000-to-win Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass main events and Ryder Laplante powered to his second straight triumph on Saturday at Arkoma Speedway during the Stars and Stripes Shootout finale.

Flud earned his second win of the season and 19th career in the Stock Non-Wing division while Chris Andrews put on a show by charging from 16th to a runner-up result. Avery Goodman placed third with Jase Randolph fourth and Daison Pursley fifth.

Trevor Peden, Chase Randall and Kyle Thompson were the heat race winners. Trey Burke secured the B Main victory.

Flud produced his 21st career NOW600 Series Winged ‘A’ Class trip to Victory Lane, which he has visited six times this season. Riley Goodno netted a second-place finish with Pursley third, Burke fourth and Randall fifth.

Kris Carroll, Goodman and Randall each won a heat race while Laplante claimed the B Main.

Laplante garnered his second straight Restricted ‘A’ Class victory and the 12th of his career to take over the lead in the championship standings. Shawn Mahaffey placed second with Ryan Timms, Preston Scheulen and Brody Mclaughlin rounding out the top five, respectively.

Scheulen and Mclaughlin both scored a heat race win.

The Lucas Oil NOW600 Series will wrap up the weekend on Sunday at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla. The gates open at 3 p.m. with racing set for 6 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for seniors and children ages 6-years-old to 12-years-old. Veterans with valid identification and children ages 5-years-old and younger get in free. Pit passes are $30 per person.
