Near Perfect Night for Bellm Cut Short at Lake Ozark - Looks to Rebound this Saturday

Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (July 19, 2018) – It was very nearly a perfect Saturday night at the Lake for Kyle Bellm and the No. 14k Sprint Car team.

After winning last Saturday night’s heat race and the Dash at Eldon, Missouri's Lake Ozark Speedway aboard the Greenworks Nursery/Landscapes Awarded Sprint Car, Bellm was off and running in the feature.

But, contact from another car on a restart resulted in race-ending damage to the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care entry that denied a sweep of the night’s racing action.

“We were leading and a yellow came out,” Bellm explains. “He came up on the restart in turn four and I ended up on my lid.”

It was a disappointing end to what looked to be another impressive night after capturing the recent “Red, White & Blue” weekend title.

“We definitely would have been in contention for the win,” the driver of the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision machine says. “We had a fast car again, it was just some unfortunate circumstances.”

Bellm and the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions/Schaeffers Racing Oil team look to get back on the winning track with a return to Lake Ozark Speedway this Saturday night.

Prior to last Saturday night’s mishap, Bellm had a run of six top-five finishes in his last seven starts along with seven consecutive top-tens. He’ll look to get the top-five streak started anew this Saturday night.

2018 Quick Stats: 21 races, 2 win, 9 top-fives, 12 top-tens.

Up Next: Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, MO) on Saturday night.
