The Friday night before we had allot of rain and a afternoon shower. Mike Quigley worked all day on Saturday getting the pit area dried out. The good part was the track took on allot of water.

The track started off very nice for the hot laps and first heat races.

Heat 1 Had 34 Johnny Weirsma with the lead until lap 5 when his car slowed and Johnny pulled off and did not finish. This gave the lead to 2 Kyle Evans with 27 Marcel Bisma with 2nd and 65 Wayne Callihoo with 3rd. 11 Grant Rude also pulled off with front wing damage. The finish saw 2 Evans take the win, 27 Bisma with 2nd and 65 Callihoo in the top 3.

Heat 2 On lap 1 66 Joey Dupperon took the lead. 8 Pierre Guyon had a brief 2nd and then on lap 3 97 Matt Dussueault moved up to 2nd. 36 Chevy Goodhope move up to 3rd on lap 1 and held on to 3rd for the entire race, Guyon fell back to 5th on Lap 5. The top 3 at the finish had 66 Dupperon with the win and 97 Dussueault 2nd and 36 Goodhope with 3rd.

The 20 lap Main race had 2 Kyle Evans on the pole and 66 Joey Dupperon on the outside pole. On Lap 2 a red flag came out for 34 Weirsma flipping in corner 4.
On the restart 2 Evans lead up to lap 9 then a dog fight between 66 Dupperon and 2 Evans for laps 10 to 13 swapping the lead and 66 Dupperon took away 1st from Evans on lap 14 to the finish. 8 Guyon move up to 4th on lap 6 from his 10th place starting position. The race track was dry in the middle but had a lower tacky groove and a higher cushion groove which split the field into 2 lines. Mike Quiqley with track prep added some water on the track before the main races which brought out some exciting racing with 2 racing lines. On lap 14 65 Wayne Callihoo spun while running 6th bringing out the caution and had to restart at the back of the field. On the restart 66 Dupperon continued to lead until the end. With 2 Evans 2nd and 8 Guyon 3rd. However upon post race inspection 66 Dupperon did not pass Castrol Raceways tech inspection and was Disqualified which handed the win to 2 Evans.

It was a great night of racing to get all fans, drivers ready for the biggest race of the year at Castrol Raceway for the Alberta Extreme Sprints on July 27th and 28th.
