CMR Racing has a rough weekend...

For Immediate Release

CMR Racing traveled to Circus City Speedway in Peru, IN this past Saturday night. With the evening being a double points night event it was a perfect setting for some great racing. Chad and the team would start the night by drawing a 30 pill for the night. That would put them on the outside of row 2 for the 1st heat race in the senior class for the night.

“We had a decent setup in the hot lap session. I made some changes and they were the right ones. However, I just keep screwing up in the corners and not running the right lines at all. I thought I was running where the car wanted to go and I realized I am just burning the tires off of it and 4 wheel drifting in the corners and getting passed by everything on the track. I think one of the track workers even passed me on a 4 wheeler. ” Chad Orr joked after his heat race.

The team would roll off 15th in the feature event. The track crew re-worked the top side of the track before the features and was able to provide some great two lane racing. The track was really starting to come in after the nights B-main for the non wing class and the team was excited to utilize some tips given to them during intermission.

"We started the race just getting through the first lap or two to make sure everyone could sort out and then we started to move forward. We were up to 11th after starting 15th. We were about 10 laps in when a car got sideways in front of me and I pitched my car sideways to avoid hitting him. In the process my right rear hooked someone on the track and bent the radius rod on the right rear. That knocked the rear end out of square and made the chain super loose. It started skipping on the sprockets and I shut it down so I would not tear anything else up. I spoke with Ron (Dennis) before the feature and he let me know what I was doing wrong on my lines and I used his advice in the feature and it helped a ton.. I have to give a huge thank you to him for that! Just a shame bad luck hit us tonight. We will go get them next weekend. " Chad spoke while loading up the car after the nights race.
