Callihoo Racing Race Report Aug 16,17, 2019 Jim Albert Memorial 64th Annual Gold Cup. Castrol Raceway.

It was a wild and crazy Gold Cup Aug 16, 17 weekend For Wayne Callihoo and Callihoo Racing team.
Wayne entered 2 Triple X Chassis for the 360 races and the sportsman races for the weekend.
Friday Aug 16 was not good. wreaked both cars. The 360 car wrecked in the heat race while passing another racer with a slide job that went bad flipped end over end and the car was done. Wayne then finished 3rd in heat race in the sportsman car and was good. Wayne was running 4th in the Main and seemed to get a wet spot in the corner 3 and spun and flipped on its side soft flip but another car hit us so there we had 2 wrecked car.
Callihoo Racing team fixed the sportsman car for Aug 17 Saturday Gold cup final night. Needed to do some welding on the 360 car and couldn't get completed on time. So Saturday Wayne ran the sportsman car for both classes. finished 3rd in heat 1 of the sportsman. The start of the Main feature race there was a bad crash got hit but car was okay. On the complete restart Wayne started on the outside pole got the lead right away and lead all green flag 20 laps and was half a lap ahead of the rest of the pack and lapped 2 cars. It was a great comeback from friday I tell you. Wayne was so focused. I don't think anyone has ever came back from two wrecked cars the night before and dominated the race like that.
For the 360 car Wayne ran Heat 1 and finished 6th Wayne admitted he could of placed better but was cautious he just wanted to finish a race. The B Main finished 5th 1 position from the transfer however one car was wrecked so may of made the 360 A Main feature but was rained out. Wayne is still on cloud 9 with the win and can't believe he came back with such a domination. my car was perfect for the sportsman win and man I drove my ass off. This should put us 3rd or 4th in track points with only one more race weekend left on Sept 13 and 14th. Wayne mentioned I don't know if I will ever run 2 cars in one night again way to much work.
