CMR Racing returned this past Wednesday and Saturday to Circus City Speedway in Peru, Indiana. Wednesday nights race was the Firecracker 40's with a spectacular fireworks show to start right after the racing ended. Chad and the team would go out for practice and blow a chain apart in the drive line at the end of practice. The team would scratch from the heat race and tag the back of the night's A-main event.

"We just did not think the rear end would have the much travel in it. We have some new parts on the rear end to free it up for forward bite and the birdcages and torsion arm sets are different then what we have ran in the past. This allowed the chain to slide out of alignment and blew it off the car. We were able to do repairs and adjusted the rear end to square up throughout the turns. I have to thank Tony (Hillyer) and Brian (Myers) for thrashing to get the car ready in time" stated Chad Orr after the nights race

"We started 16th and the track was tricky fast. It was slick and had some grip up top to start with. The top started to fade about half way through and then we lost our brakes. We come to find out we knocked off a bleeder out of the rear caliper which caused the failure. Which made for a interesting last half of the race. We just stayed out of the way and did not get to aggressive so we could avoid others in case of an accident. We were able to move up 7 spots and come home 9th. With everything that happened during the race we are very happy and counting our blessings we brought it home in one piece." Chad Orr stated in the CMR Racing shop on Tuesday evening.

The team returned to Circus City again on Saturday evening for the stock 600's. The weather was tricky and with a few other tracks racing the car count was low. However, the racing was fast and exciting as Chad started on the outside of the front row for his heat race.

"I just messed up and went into turn one hoping to find some grip. I missed the line I needed and let Cory (Ebersole) and Ron (Dennis) to get under me. I then fell back in line and ran 3rd for the rest of the heat race." Chad Orr stated after the nights heat race.

The team would roll off 3rd for the night's A-main. During intermission the team decided to make some wholesale changes to the car to see if they could get the reaction out of the car they were hoping for. The changes worked great and the car was hooked up for the entire race.

"We started on the inside and just fell in line behind Cory and Ron there at the start. I waited for the right rear to heat up as the KS1 Hoosier tire we have to run does not really seem to come in for the first couple of laps. Once it came in we really got hooked up on the bottom of the track. We were able to get under Cory there about 5 laps in and take 2nd place. I was then just trying to find a line I could use to get around Ron (Dennis). That guy is a rock-star in these cars. I was also using it as an opportunity to go to school ha ha. I learned how he was driving his car and started to copy that. It just made our car feel better and better each lap. It was a blast to race him and keep the car there. He just does not make mistakes and we settled for 2nd tonight. " Chad Orr stated while celebrating his 2nd place finish with the team.

The team would like to thank their guests for the evening. Kevin Nussbaum and his family joined the team for the first time to watch the nights event. We were happy to have them as our guests and look forward to having them again at the track.
