Holiday Inn Express & Suites Presents Huge Independence Weekend Special at Oswego Next Saturday, July 6

OSWEGO, NY (June 27, 2019) - Oswego Speedway will open another busy three race stretch with a gigantic program in the form of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites ‘Grand Prix’ special next Saturday, July 6.

The 75-lap extra distance show for the Supermodifieds has been a fixture at the Speedway since 2012. This year, the always entertaining feature event will be joined by a 35-lap main for the Pathfinder Bank SBS with the addition of a 25-lap show for the 350 Supermodified class.

New to Grand Prix Night, which already features a spectacular fireworks show at the conclusion of the program, will be the second driver autograph session of the season, making this a can’t miss event for families and children.

Also part of this jam packed evening will be the second night of the 2019 Novelis Fan Can Chase, scheduled to be held outside of the speedway’s main gates prior to the first heat race at 7pm.

With six features events already in the record books for the Novelis Supermodifieds, it comes as a surprise to no one that Otto Sitterly is currently the dominant car. The eight time and defending champion has already seen victory twice, and finished on the podium for all but one race.

A win in last week’s Helena-Agri Enterprises 50 allowed Sitterly to open his point lead over Jeff Abold significantly. With six regular features down and six to go, Otto now has a seventy point advantage over Abold, teammate Alison Sload, Brandon Bellinger, and Joe Gosek.

In the Pathfinder Bank SBS division, it is already a dog fight for the track title between Dave Cliff and Anthony Losurdo. Cliff and Losurdo have split the four main events this season, with Cliff currently on top of the standings by only one point over the defending track champion.

The standings for the 350 Super division are currently nodded at 300, with New York driver Vern LaFave and Massachusetts campaigner John Burke tied at the top. Barry Kingsley and Anthony Losurdo are currently third and fourth, less than thirty points back.

Tickets for July 6 will be $20 for GA, $25 for reserved seating, $35 for a pit pass, or $75 for an all access VIP ticket which includes admission to the sky deck, grandstand, pit area, and a climate controlled VIP suite. Kids 16 and under are FREE with a paid adult.

The schedule will see grandstands open for hot laps at 4pm. Shortly thereafter, the autograph session for all drivers and teams will begin at 5:15. After the track is cleared, group time trials will hit the surface at 6:20 before heat racing at 7:00. Fireworks will follow the feature events.

One of the newest choices in the area for accommodations, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites of Oswego is an eighty one room hotel offering guests a heated pool area, fitness center, 24 hour business center, meeting rooms, and a complimentary continental breakfast each morning.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites is located just blocks from the Oswego Speedway and within steps of State Route 104 at 140 E. 13th Street. To find a rate, or for more information, visit HIExpress.com and search Oswego, NY or call (315)-207-0100.
