Knoxville 360 Nationals Highlights Big Weekend for Kyle Bellm

Lonnie Wheatley, NIXA, Mo. (August 1, 2019) – Kyle Bellm is gearing up for four big nights of Sprint Car action over a five-day stretch beginning on Friday.

The Nixa, MO, racer takes the wheel of Tony Bartlett’s No. 75au entry for this weekend’s Knoxville 360 Nationals, tackling the Friday portion of the event that sets the stage for Saturday’s championship finale.

Once the 360 Nationals are in the books, Bellm will join forces with the Smith Brothers Racing No. 86 for a $2,000-to-win tilt on Sunday at California, Missouri’s Double X Speedway.

Then it’s back to Iowa and Bartlett’s No. 75au for Tuesday’s Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour card at Oskaloosa’s Southern Iowa Speedway.

“I feel like we haven’t really raced as much as would have liked so far this year, so now I guess we’re making up for it,” Bellm comments.

Bellm has spent a portion of July preparing for this year’s rendition of the Knoxville 360 Nationals, getting in a pair of events aboard Bartlett’s No. 75au with a 16th-place showing on July 13 and then a strong run of 12th against a field of 50 last Saturday night. A third scheduled night on July 20 fell victim to rain.

“We have learned a lot and got faster each time out,” Bellm says of the pairing with Bartlett. “The first night out, we really got going in the last few laps of the feature. We keep making changes each time and the car keeps feeling better and better.”

The recent Knoxville laps have Bellm enthused about this weekend’s Knoxville 360 Nationals.

“I’m probably as excited as I’ve ever been going to 360 Nationals,” Bellm says. “I usually go in with no laps at all when I’ve gone. This time, we’ve had a couple of nights to get familiar with things and the car is feeling really good.”

Along with Knoxville and Oskaloosa, Bellm also sees Sunday at Double X as an opportunity to reach victory lane again. He topped the main event there on June 9.

“It will be a busy few days, we’re looking forward to it,” Bellm sums up.

The Kyle Bellm Racing efforts are made possible with support from marketing partners including Greenworks Nursery, Landscapes Awarded, Christian County Collision Repair, Bybee Lawn Care, PPG Automotive Finishes, Colorvision, Schure Built Suspensions, Schaeffers Racing Oil and Valley Park West Retirement Living.

Quick Stats: 18 Races, 1 win, 5 top-fives, 9 top-tens.
