HUNT, PIEROVICH LEAD WESTERN SPRINTS TO SHASTA RACEWAY PARK

Shasta Raceway Park in Anderson, Calif. hosts this Saturday night’s AMSOIL USAC Western/Western Classic Sprint race and two drivers will be seeking to increase point leads in respective USAC racing series.

Tony Hunt of Lincoln, Calif. has a seven-point lead over Brian McClish in the Western Sprint series as he seeks a seventh USAC driving title, fifth in the Western Sprints.

Pierovich, of Alamo, Calif., is three points ahead of Hunt in the brand-new Western Classic Sprint Series standings going into the race at Shasta.

JoJo Helberg won last year’s USAC Sprint outing at Anderson, a race in which Hunt finished third.
