Former Classic Winner, IndyCar Veteran Davey Hamilton Reunites with John Nicotra for Run at 63rd Budweiser International Classic 200

OSWEGO, NY (August 20, 2019) - 1997 Budweiser International Classic 200 champion Davey Hamilton will reunite with car owner John Nicotra and teammate Otto Sitterly for another run at Oswego Speedway’s 63rd Budweiser International Classic 200 next Sunday, September 1.

Hamilton, a former IndyCar star known for his career in the NTT IndyCar Series; highlighted by three second place finishes and several stints in the Indianapolis 500, has not competed with a Supermodified since Classic Weekend one year ago.

“I know it will be a challenge since I haven’t drove a Supermodified with the new wing package yet, but I’m looking forward to the trip to Oswego for Classic,” said Hamilton Tuesday. “Having nine-time champ Otto (Sitterly) helping me get up to speed, we are hoping for a good result.”

The Boise, I.D. driver has been victorious in a handful of Supermodified events throughout his career including the aforementioned ‘97 Classic, three winged Supermodified events with ISMA, and most recently Oswego’s 75-lap Season Opener in May 2013.

Hamilton has competed in a total of ten Classics for Nicotra, with finishes of ninth, fourth, tenth, third, second, fifteenth, third, fourth, fifth, and fifteenth since his first 200 with the team in 2007.
