In a night full of battles, last year's USAC Western Midgets Champion pulled off a major upset, narrowly beating out new points leader Jimmy Sills in the 4th race of the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Car Shootout. Starting deep in the field, Alex Schutte worked his way to the front landing the Dave Johnson Racing spec sprint car in victory lane.
