"Ninth Decade in the Books for Badger Midget Series”

Sun Prairie, Wis., Dec. 26---The ninth decade of sanctioning midget auto racing for the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association concluded three months ago. A promising and interesting 2020 schedule will be released shortly.

The 2010 decade opened on May 1, 2010, with Brad Kuhn wining at Beaver Dam (Wis.) Raceway, and concluded on Sept. 21, 2019, with Chase McDermand’s victory at 141 Speedway (Maribel, Wis.). A total of 142-events were sanctioned at nineteen different tracks. Angell Park Speedway was the popular venue hosting 72-events.

In one of the most competitive decades in history, a total of 42-different drivers won a feature event led by the 2018 Champion Scott Hatton’s eleven victories. Hatton also topped all drivers during the decade in fast time honors. Brad Kuhn was the only repeat driver champion during the decade picking up titles in 2011, and retirement season of 2013.

Chase McDermand’s decade finale feature victory made him the youngest Badger driver champion ever, and his two-point margin in the final point tally was the closest ever in driver points.
