Park Jefferson announces exciting 2020 racing schedule

Park Jefferson Speedway has announced the racing schedule for 2020 racing season featuring 14 nights of racing. Many of the popular racing events return to the schedule for 2020 with events like the Iron Cup, the South Dakota Sprint Car Nationals, and the Memorial Clash return.

The 2020 J&J Fitting Iron Cup will move back to the end of the season schedule as it was in past years. The Iron Cup was originally started after the Tiny Lund Memorial was cancelled in 2014 as a way to give IMCA Drivers a chance to compete at an exciting end of season event. After 5 years, the event moved to a mid year event in 2019. This year, will see the return of the Iron Cup to a two day event on August 7-8. The highlight of the 7th annual running will see the IMCA Modifieds running for a $7,000 to win prize on Saturday Night. In addition, the J&J Fitting Stock Cars will be running for $1,000 to win thanks to increased sponsorship from Casey Jones and J&J Fitting. All six classes will be competing with the Sport Compacts running Friday and the IMCA RACESaver Sprint Cars on Saturday.

The other season highlight is the return of the 3rd annual South Dakota Sprint Car Nationals on April 24&25th. Featuring the Nebraska 360 Sprint Cars vs the MSTS Sprint Cars, this year will see the program revert to complete nights of racing on each night. Full purses will be announced when sponsorship is finalized.

The Memorial Duel once again is the first of big money IMCA Modified events on May 23rd with drivers competing in a $1,000 to win IMCA Modified Fast Shafts All Star Qualifer along with the Nebraska 360 Sprints vs MSTS in the North vs South Sprint Shootout.

A new event sees the Memorial Day Monday special featuring the USMTS coming back to the track. The best touring modified drivers in the land will bring their 700 horsepower machines to hammer around the Park Jefferson surface. A unique non-sanctioned event will see cars from the IMCA and USRA classes a chance to compete against each other in a rules battle royale with drivers being required to be legal in either the IMCA classes for sport modifieds and hobby stocks, or USRA legal in the b mod an hobby stock divisions. Full details will be released later in the year.

Park Jefferson Speedway owner Adam Adamson would like to apologize but due to a scheduling conflict the Park Jefferson Banquet recognizing last years champions will be moved to Thursday, April 13th, prior to the opening night of racing. For all advance tickets that were purchased, full refunds are available by calling the track office at 712-202-5540.
