Stewart Stars in Husets Memorial Day Opener

Petersen Media- Shane Stewart and his Silva Motorsports team made the most of their trip from Knoxville, IA to Siox Falls, SD to take part in the Husets Memorial Day Double Header, as Stewart put his ROCKSTAR/Makita/A.R.T in victory lane in front of a star studded 33 car field Sunday night.

The eight car invert from passing points lined Shane’s Lucas Oil Products/Pro Bilt Construction/Palmero Properties entry up in the fourth position for the 25 lap feature event.

With the waving of the green flag, Shane grabbed the second position and quickly applied pressure to early race leader, Chuck McGillivray. On the second circuit, Shane put his Finley Farms/Cross Creek Trucking/Car and Fleet machine on the cushion and grabbed the lead.

As laps clicked off, Stewart continued to distance himself over the rest of the field as he began working his way through lapped traffic, until the red flag flew on lap seven putting McGillivray, Austin McCarl, Terry McCarl, Logan Forler, and Mark Dobmeier on his rear bumper.

When the action resumed Stewart motored away from the field quickly putting a large gap between him and the rest of the field for another five laps until the caution again bunched the field up on lap 12.

A red flew on lap 14 as Stewart continued to blitz the field by way of the cushion on the race track, but Stewart made contact with debris on the track but would be okay.

A green-white-checkered finish put a hard charging Mark Dobmeier on his bumper, but Shane proved to be to strong on this night and cruised on to the victory. The win was Shane’s fourth at the track.

“Paul gave me an awesome car tonight at the ROCKSTAR/Makita/A.R.T. No.57 was on a rail and fun to drive,” said a pumped up Shane Stewart. “We had some good cars behind us on the last couple restarts, but we were good tonight and hopefully we can be sitting here tomorrow night as well.”

Shane and his Silva Motorsports team would like to thank ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK, Makita Industrial Power Tools, Lucas Oil Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Pro Bilt Construction, Palmero Properties, Cross Creek Trucking, Finley Farms, Car and Fleet, Race Gear X, OMP Racing, Wesmar Racing Engines, McColloch’s RV, Shift Creative, Amerikote, XYZ, Hoosier Tire, Pro, Banshee Graphics, Dan Olson Products, K&N Filters, RE Technologies, Weld, Schoenfeld Headers, Butlerbuilt Seats, Vortex Wings, CP Pistons, Cometic Gaskets, Huggins Cams BR Ignitioneering and Seven Industries for their partnership in 2011.
