POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints set for Inaugural Season Send-off

Belleville, IL. (3/3/2020) Wanting to give drivers as many opportunities to take to the track as possible, the newly sanctioned POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints are set to roll out their 2020 campaign. Debuting under the “Mid-Winter Fair” lights of Imperial Valley Speedway on Saturday, March 7th, Southwest Lightning Sprints continue the side-by-side racing during some daytime dueling on Sunday, March 8th.

Presented by Imperial Motorsports Promotions, Imperial Valley Fairgrounds will play host to this two-day event full of family fun for everyone to enjoy. Starting Saturday with Hot Laps at 5:00 and racing at 6:00 pm, all POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprint competitors are required to attend and pass pre-tech qualifications, before taking any laps, between 2:15-5:00 pm. Then, on Sunday, the Lightning Sprint excitement endures with Pit-Gates opening at 10:00 am, drivers meeting at noon, and the first race starting promptly at 1:30 pm.

The POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints jump right into the racing action this weekend Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th. The first pair of thirteen events throughout the summer months, with ten occasions battling on the track with wings and three times racing traditional sprinter-style.
