A.G Rains captures O?Reilly USCS Trick or Treat Fall Nationals at Riverside Speedway

October 11, 2008 - West Memphis, AR- A.G Rains from West Memphis, Arkansas towed less than five miles from his home to collect a huge win and a $3000 paycheck in the O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series presented by Lucas Oil “Trick or Treat” Fall Nationals at Riverside International Speedway on Saturday night. It was Raines first career win in O’Reilly USCS competition and came over a competitive field of 34 cars from five states.

Rains led all 35 laps of the main event after winning the drag race to turn one with K&N Filters pole Award recipient, Ronny Howard from Southaven, Mississippi. Multi-time Riverside Speedway track champion, Eddie Gallagher from Piperton, Tennessee finished in the runner-up spot after chasing Rains the last 30 laps. RE Technologies fast qualifier Ricky Hood from Phoenix, Arizona finished in the third position after stating sixth in the Finale. The previous week’s Riverside Speedway feature winner, Jeff Swindell from Bartlett,Tennessee followed the trio home in fourth place and Tim Sites from Southaven, Mississippi rounded out the top five in the speedway’s season finale.

Six-time and defending O’Reilly USCS series Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee finished in sixth place after starting sixteenth and garnered the Huggins Cams Hard Charger Award. The 2007 O’Reilly USCS Mid South Rookie of the Year Chris Williams from Memphis, Tennessee followed in seventh position. The 2006 O’Reilly USCS National Rookie of the Year Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas finished in eighth place and was followed by 1999 O’Reilly USCS Dirt Cup Champion Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas in ninth place. Two-time and defending Trick or Treat Fall Nationals Champion and current O’Reilly USCS Mid South Thunder regional points leader Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas rounded out the top ten drivers.

Ricky Hood won the RE Technologies time trial qualifying with a one lap time of 12.002. Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas won the evening’s 6-lap Lucas Oil Power Dash. Ricky Hood won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat. Jeff Swindell from Bartlett, Tennessee got the victory in the 10-lap Butlerbuilt Second Heat. Time Sites from Southaven, Mississippi won the Bar’s Leaks Third Heat Race. Past O’Reilly USCS champion, Edddie Gallagher won the FSR Racing Products Fourth Heat Race. The Hoosier Tire Young Guns award went to Derek Hagar. Justin Carver from Bartlett, Tennessee garnered the Rookie of the Race honors.
