Gregg Finishes 11th at Bradway/Tribute to GP

PETERSEN MEDIA- Friday night in Chico, CA Andy Gregg wheeled his Bret Ervin Racing/7 Industries/Eagle No.53 sprinter to an 11th place finish in a wild 40-lap feature event that paid homage to Dave Bradway, Jr and Gary Patterson.

Gridding the field in the 13th spot, Gregg fought a tight car as he jockeyed for early position.

The race was slowed early for a pair of cautions on the third and fifth laps as Gregg maintained his 13th position as he battled with Jason York and Peter Murphy through the early stages of the race.

After a lap five caution, the race got going as the next 14 laps clicked off with no stoppage and Gregg was able to navigate his Autism Awareness/Hot Rod Shop/Wheel Vintiques backed entry through traffic and into the top ten.

On the 13th circuit, Andy was able to power past Brad Bumgarner and Mason Moore to grab the 7th spot as the red flag flew halting the fast paced event on the 19th circuit.

Once back underway, Gregg lost several spots on the restart and he continued to manhandle his College Cyclery/Ervin Sales Group/Don Ott powered machine and found himself back in the 11th position and in a torrid battle with Robbie Witchurch until the red flag flew again on the 25th lap.

When the feature got back underway a wild restart saw Gregg power his way back into the 7th spot, and continued to tip toe around the race track.

Over the final six laps, Gregg continued to battle for a top ten position until he looped his machine coming out of four and gathered himself back up to salvage a 11th place finish.

“This was just one of those nights tonight,” remarked Gregg. “it wasn’t a horrible night but all of us will regroup tonight and head up to Medford and look to improve.”
