Stewart Stout in ROCKSTAR/Makita Machine Until Misfortune Strikes

Taking advantage from another off weekend with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour, Shane Stewart and his ROCKSTAR/Makita team opted to make the trip west and catch the back half of the 2011 Western Speedweek as they went to work Monday night at the Cottage Grove Speedway.

Lining up in the second position, Shane and fellow front row starter, Jonathan Allard quickly broke away from the field.

As Allard grabbed the top spot early, Stewart and his Probilt Construction/Lucas Oil Products/A.R.T. were all over the early race leader.

Lapped traffic became an early factor on the tight Oregon bullring, and Stewart and Allard continued to entertain the crowd as the duo carved their way through traffic.

Stewart continued to persistently apply pressure to Allard, but remained in he second spot primed to pounce on any mistake the race long leader might make.

On the 14th circuit the yellow flag flew for a spinning Ian Madsen, at the same time the Finley Farms/Cross Creek Trucking/A.R.T. Speed Equipment No.57 came to a stop with mechanical woes.

Stewart was un able to make the call to restart the race.

“This thing was awesome tonight, and I can’t thank Paul enough,” said Stewart. “Unfortunately under the yellow I could feel the motor acting up so I pulled off so we could check it out, and luckily we will still be alright for the Dirt Cup this weekend.”

To kick off the night, Shane timed in with the quickest lap of the 21 cars checked into the pit area. In heat race action, Shane charged from his fourth starting spot to capture second, before charging from fourth to second in the dash.

Shane and his Silva Motorsports team thank ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK, Makita Industrial Power Tools, Lucas Oil Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Pro Bilt Construction, Palmero Properties, Cross Creek Trucking, Finley Farms, Car and Fleet, Race Gear X, OMP Racing, Wesmar Racing Engines, McColloch’s RV, Shift Creative, Amerikote, XYZ, Hoosier Tire, Pro, Banshee Graphics, Dan Olson Products, K&N Filters, RE Technologies, Weld, Schoenfeld Headers, Butlerbuilt Seats, Vortex Wings, CP Pistons, Cometic Gaskets, Huggins Cams BR Ignitioneering and Seven Industries for their partnership in 2011.

ON TAP: Shane and his Silva Motorsports team will now head north to the Skagit Speedway as Shane looks to defend his title in the 40th running of the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup set to kick off on Thursday night.
