Bret Ervin Racing Bound for Howard Kaeding Classic

After a two-week break, Andy Gregg and his Bret Ervin Racing team return to action this Friday and Saturday at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA for the inaugural running of the Howard Kaeding Classic.

The Howard Kaeding classic pays homage to the sprint car great who made his name as a multiple-time super modified champion winning numerous races. The “Campbell Comet” as Kaeding was known still keeps his hand in the sport as his children and grandchildren continue to carry on the famed Kaeding name.

In the previous KWS race at the track during round 3 of the 2011 season, Gregg charged his 7 Industries sprinter to a fifth place finish, and was one of the fastest cars on the track at the end of night.

“Last time we were in Watsonville our car really came to life at the end of the night, and I was really wishing that the feature was five more laps,” said Gregg.

In recent KWS action the Bret Ervin Racing team fought an ill handling race car to 12th and 11th place finishes in Chico, CA and Medford, OR before the break.

“It was nice to have a few weekends off to re group and relax,” explained Gregg. “We went back to the drawing board after a couple of rough nights and hopefully it pays off this weekend.”

The action is scheduled to kick off with qualifying at 5:30pm on Friday night and an hour earlier on Saturday with qualifications hitting the track at 4:30pm.
