Miranda Makes Knoxville Debut

PETERSEN MEDIA: Friday and Saturday night, Miranda Arnold returned to racing action as she made an appearance with the Sprint Invaders at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA before making her first ever appearance at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, IA Saturday night.

Friday night, Miranda found herself starting in the sixth spot of her heat race, and struggled a bit as she was able to charge up to the fifth spot as the race concluded.

“During my heat I kept over driving and really messing up my entry into the corner and that continued to hurt me,” said Arnold.

The heat race finish forced Miranda to start her Arnold Motorsports/Mid Mo Auto Sales/Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps backed entry in the B-main event needing a top four run to transfer.

A third place run in the semi, transferred the Sedalia, MO native to the 25-lap feature where she would grid the field in the 19th position.

The feature event would click off all 25-laps in not stop fashion, as the lightening fast racing surface put passing at a premium.

Late in the feature, Miranda was able to get past Rusty Potter, and Jimmy Davies, to put her 5m machine in the 16th position as the checkered flag flew on the event.

Saturday night, the lady racer checked into the historic Marion County Fairgrounds for the first time in her career for weekly action at the Knoxville Raceway.

In her first racing action on any half mile, Miranda advanced from her ninth starting spot in her heat race to finish in the eighth spot after passing Allen Zoutte, sending Miranda to the B-main.

In the B-main Miranda searched the track as she continued to adjust to the large racing surface. From her 12th starting spot, Arnold was able to advance two spots to grab 10th in the semi, unfortunately ending her night.

“This was fun to get out here and race at Knoxville for the first time, but it is definitely a tough place to figure out, “ explained Miranda. “Tonight I was just on the wheel to much and didn’t click off the smoothest of laps for a place like this.”

Miranda would like to thank Mid-Mo Auto Sales, Impact Signs, Awnings & Wraps / impact4800.com, Alliance Performance Group, ButlerBuilt, K&N Performance, Champion Oil, Vortex Race Products, Hooker Harness, Don’s Truck Towing, Hoosier Tire, Fastenal, Ralph’s Sandblasting, Ti64, Weld Wheels, Buso’s AA Muffler Shop, State Fair Moving and Storage, Xtreme Fuel Sticks, and CIP Race Bodies for their continued support in 2011.
