Even though the night got off to a rocky start, Haley Arnold was all smiles after charging from 24th to 12th at the 305 Nationals at Belleville High Banks in Belleville, KS Thursday night.
During hot laps the left side wing panel collapsed, but that didn’t slow the Missouri native down as she continued to feel out the track, but her troubles didn’t stop there.
Starting on the front row of her heat, a fuel issue arose on her Arnold Motorsports entry, and her car hesitated to take off, and she was relegated to running in the B-main for her last chance at qualifying for the feature.
Though it seemed all the issues were ironed out in the B, as Haley quickly jumped into the lead and dominated the race, more issues appeared as a broken rocker arm quickly slowed her down, though she was able to limp to the finish and still transfer to the feature.
Lining up 24th aboard her Mid-Mo Auto Sales/Impact Signs, Awnings, & Wraps/J&J, Haley shook away all her gremlins and simply put on a clinic during the non-stop feature on the high-banked track.
Going both high and low, Haley was able to carve her way to a 12th place finish when the checkered flag waved.
“I have to thank my Mom, Dad, Paul, and Elite Motorsports for all of their help tonight. There’s no way I would of made it out for the feature without all of the help,” explained Haley. “Though we had all the motor issues tonight I still had so much fun! Starting at the back and going forward felt really good, and I think we would have had a shot at winning without all the trouble we had, but that happens.”
