PETERSEN MEDIA- Just days after his memorable Knoxville Nationals run, Shane Stewart and his ROCKSTAR/Makita team returned to action at the Red River Valley Speedway in Fargo, ND on Wednesday where Shane’s night came to an early end.
The All Star Circuit of Champions sanctioned event got off to a bright start for the driver of the Silva Motorsports/Lucas Oil Products/A.R.T. as Stewart timed in with the 8th quickest lap of the 40 cars assembled.
In heat race action, Stewart lined his Cross Creek Trucking/Finley Farms/Wesmar powered entry up in the sixth spot, where he then proceeded to work his way into the fourth and final transfer spot, to advance into the 30-lap feature event.
The feature event saw Stewart line up in the 7th position in the 24-car star studded feature. As the race got underway Shane felt out his Paul Silva prepared mount on the tricky track as he settled in.
With the race waring on, it was apparent something wasn’t correct on Stewarts car, and he opted to head pitside on the seventh lap after a near spin.
“Something just felt a little off tonight,” said Shane. “We were rolling around, and I just couldn’t get comfortable and opted to pull off before I tore something up. We will see if we can figure it out and head on to Jackson, MN this weekend to meet back up with the Lucas Oil ASCS series.”
