Bud Has Up and Down Four Crown Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night at the Eldora Speedway, Bud Kaeding competed in two of the three USAC events during the Four Crown Nationals, tallying a sixth place finish in the Sprint Car finish and was riddled with bad luck during the Silver Crown race.

After timing in his BK Motorsports entry with the 14th fastest lap of the 28 Sprint Cars assembled, Bud then proceeded to pick up the heat race win, transferring him into the feature with a 14th place starting position.

In the feature event, the third generation driver was able to put his mount against the famed Eldora wall, and pick his way forward, and survive the tire issues that many other competitors had.

With the checkered flag waving, Kaeding was in the sixth finishing spot, in what many would call a wild feature event with great racing action all over the track.

The Silver Crown portion of the event saw Bud time his BK Motorsports entry in with the fifth fastest lap, lining him up in the third row for the 50-lap finale.

As the race got underway, the California driver was able to get past Jerry Coons, Jr to over take the fourth spot.

The laps continued to click off, and Bud held on to the fourth spot, right on the heels of third running, Bryan Clauson, until the 32nd lap.

Bud slowly came to a stop bringing out the caution flag, and surrendering the fourth spot with an apparent fuel pump issue.

Kaeding’s night would end early, and he was credited with a n 18th place finish.

“Both cars were really strong tonight,” explained Kaeding. “We had a pretty good run in the Sprint Car, and had a nice run going in the Silver Crown race, but unforuteanly we had some bad luck there that ended our night. My guy’s worked their tails off all night, and I can’t thank them enough.”

Bud Kaeding would like to thank Kaeding Performance, Alviso Rock, BZE, Factory Kahne Shocks, Racing Optics, K&N Filters, Yak Graphics, ButerBuilt, and Brown and Miller for their continued support in 2011.
