June 25, 2021- Sun Prairie, WI-- The Badger Midget Series returns to action this Sunday, June 27 at the Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI for the sixth annual Norm Nelson Classic.
The Norm Nelson Classic honors the first midget feature winner at the Angell Park Speedway on June 2, 1946. Nelson also won the first Interstate Racing Association (IRA) Sprint Car Championship in 1960. Nelson’s career was also highlighted by 35 United States Auto Club Stock Car wins and three USAC Stock Car championships.
Chase McDermand leads the Badger Midget series contingent to Angell Park Speedway with a 139 point lead over Zach Boden heading into the event. McDermand picked up the most recent feature win with the Badger Midget Series at Sycamore Speedway on Saturday, June 19.
