Bud Scores Third Friday and Eighth Saturday

PETERSEN MEDIA- For the second week in a row, Bud Kaeding put together two solid nights of racing as he notched two top-ten finishes as he was in action at the Ocean Speedway and Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway.

Friday night in Watsonville, CA, Kaeding climbed aboard the Werbach Motorsports No.20 entry for the first time this season and was impressive out of the box.

With 22 cars on hand, the third generation driver timed in fourth quickest during qualifications.

Heat race action, saw Kaeding grab the fourth spot, transferring him directly into the feature event where he would grid the field in the fifth spot for the 30-lap season finale.

With the waving of the green flag, Kaeding quickly got passed Rico Abreu, and worked into the fourth spot as he battled behind Tommy Tarlton and Shane Golobic.

As the leaders battled wheel to wheel, Bud worked the bottom of the speedway as he stayed within striking distance.

Through lapped traffic, Bud was never able to get up to the lead duo to challenge for the lead, but held the final podium spot to close out the 2011 Taco Bravo Series.

Saturday night, Kaeding climbed aboard the familiar BZE No.29 USAC West Coast 360 for their version of the Cotton Classic at the Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway.

With 24 cars signed into the pits, Kaeding clocked his BZE/Sprint Car Innovations/Factory Kahne Shocks entry in with the seventh fastest lap of the night in time trials.

A second place run in his heat, lined the former USAC Silver Crown champion up in the fourth row of the feature event.

Kaeding quickly went to the top of the slicked off surface, as he looked very strong early, and battled with Danny Faria, JR and Wes Gutierrez in the tope five.

As the race wore on, Kaeding stayed committed to the high side of the track but was unable to get a strong run forward.

Kaeding chased Faria to the stripe in the eighth spot to officially close out the 2011 USAC West Coast 360 season.

“Both nights I felt like we had strong enough cars to win the race early on,” explained Kaeding. “Friday we put ourselves in great position, but on Saturday we just were not very good at the end and faded back to eighth.”

Bud Kaeding would like to thank Kaeding Performance, Sprint Car Innovations, Alviso Rock, BZE, Factory Kahne Shocks, Racing Optics, K&N Filters, Yak Graphics, ButerBuilt, and Brown and Miller for their continued support in 2011.

ON TAP: Kaeding will now climb back behind the wheel of the Brian Matherly No.19 machine for this weekends Trophy Cup in Tulare, CA.
