First of two nights of racing action at Grays Harbor Raceway saw the ISCS Limited Sprints for their Week of Speed, Dwarf Cars, IMCA Modifieds and Hornets. Mother nature tried to play a role in ruining the evening with rain most of the morning and afternoon but the cars and stars of the Pacific Northwest put on an evening of racing action.

ISCS Limited Sprint Cars

The 25-lap feature saw a full field of limited sprint cars with Camden Robustelli of Medford, Ore leading the field to the green flag. Steven Snawder of Roseburg, Ore stayed at the back bumper of Robustelli into turn one. Central Point, Ore's Theron Smith moved into the second spot in turn two looking to track down Robustelli. The battle for third between Snawder and Roseburg, Ore driver Kyle Alberding was the race to watch. Tyler Thompson or Harrisburg, Ore and Evan Margeson of Tacoma battled in the fourth and fifth position. Robustelli extended his lead on Smith. Robustelli worked his way into lap traffic, as Snawder and Smith battled for second with Snawder taking the runner up spot on lap 9. Thompson and Margeson closed in on Alberding looking to take third, Margeson took the fourth position from Thompson on lap 11. Robustelli maneuvered his way through lap traffic but lap 13 saw the caution flag fly for Allison Johnson of Ferndale, spinning to a stop in turn four. On the restart, Robustelli had two lapped cars between himself and Snawder. Alberding moved into third, shuffling Smith to fourth. Margeson looked to work his way by Smith in the mix. Robustelli quickly extended his lead on Snawder, catching back up with lap traffic once again. Snawder looked to catch Robustelli to try and make a pass for the lead but it was Robustelli leading all 25 laps and picking up the win. Snawder, Margeson, Alberding and Smith rounded out the top five. Heat race winners earlier in the evening were Lake Stevens driver Eric Turner, Thompson, and Junction City, Ore's Shane Forte.

IMCA Modifieds

Matt Arnold of Elma and Yakima's Don Martin set the front row of the 25 lap IMCA Modified feature event. Arnold took the lead on the start but saw issues in turn four making contact with the wall. Behind him a seven car pile-up occurred bringing out the red flag. All drivers were ok in the incident. On the restart Martin and Olympia driver Brian Izzi led the field to the green flag. Shelton's Brenton Schnitzer quickly made his way to the lead getting by Martin. Zack Simpson of Aberdeen moved into the lead getting by Schnitzer. A three-car battle for second between Schnitzer, Martin and Tyson Blood of Olympia in turn two as Blood move into second looking to track down Simpson. Stayton, Ore driver Grey Ferrando worked his way into third, looking to get by Blood down the back stretch. Blood ran the low side of the 3/8's banked clay oval and remained in the runner up spot. Blood stayed within striking distance of Simpson as he took the lead on lap 5. Ferrando and Simpson battled it out for second with Ferrando taking over the position. Shelton's Scott Miller joined in the mix running fourth. Simpson looked low at Ferrando to get the runner up spot back. Miller made a move at Ferrando in turn three on lap 8 looking to move up into a podium position. He wasn't done there as he went after Simpson. Blood continued to pull away from the rest of the field looking strong out front. The caution filled feature event was cut short to 20 laps, as Blood picked up the win over Miller, Ferrando, Simpson and Hoquiam's Jason Tole rounded out the top five. On the restart it was Kress leading John Chrisman of Hilsboro, Ore. King worked his way back into second as Sandy, Ore driver Justin DeMars worked his way into third. King looked to stay within striking distance of Kress. Henry Corbin III of Mollala, Ore looked to make a run at DeMars for third but couldn't make the pass. On a long green flag run Kress slowly put some distance between himself and King. Lap 7 saw DeMars make a pass for the runner up position and looking to make a bid for the lead. King stayed at the back bumper looking to take the position back but the caution flag flew on lap 9 for a multiple car incident in turn one and two. Kress looked strong up front as they went back to racing action. King looked to take a shot for the lead on the high side buy couldn't make the pass.
