POWRi WAR to Host “King of the Hill” at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex

Belleville, IL. (9/28/21) Adding to an already action-packed racing weekend, Performance Open Wheel Racing Inc. and Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex are excited to announce a one-of-a-kind racing experiment with WAR battling for “King of the Hill” bragging rights on Saturday, October 2nd during the Intermission activities.

With many area drivers beginning their careers at the local legendary venue, competitors will now have a chance to tackle the track in a full-size non-wing sprint car in an attempt to see if the racing surface can handle a possible future feature event. Drivers will Hot-Lap, Heat-Race, and compete in the King of the Hill program. Competitors will pill-draw for their 10-lap heat race starting position where the final results will rank drivers according to placement. The lowest pair of finishers in the heat race will start the “King of the Hill” program racing against each other for 3 laps, winner stays on the track to battle the next lowest seeded competitor. On-track action continues until one driver remains as the champion with the heat race winner the last driver to race.
