Jason Meyers Rockets to Second World of Outlaws Title with Astro Titanium

In racing, the pursuit of speed is always the main focus. This year Jason Meyers was without a doubt the fastest driver with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. He drove to his second straight championship in dominating fashion, becoming just the fourth driver in series history to win consecutive titles.

Meyers had a come from behind type season this year, winning his first race in early July. He made up for all that lost time over the last month of the season as he has recorded five consecutive victories. The 2010 and 2011 World of Outlaws Champions finished in the top-10 every race from early September at Cottage Grove (Ore.) Speedway through the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, a span of 16 races, which included five straight wins at one point.

Meyers finished the season with the best qualifying record on the World of Outlaws tour, recording 12 quick times including one in the final race of the season, along with leading the series in dash wins with eight, while being tied for the series lead in wins with nine. He also led the series in the number of laps led in 2011. The native of Clovis, Calif., won a pair of crown jewel events in 2011, including the $20,000 finale of the Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway in July, followed by a $50,000 triumph at the famed half-mile in the National Open in October.
