SCOTTY COOK HIRED AS FRONT MAN FOR SPRINTSOURCE

Inside Line Promotions – Sioux Falls, S.D. (Dec. 5) – Josh Holt beamed with confidence when he spoke of his next step for Driver Websites.

Driver Websites and MyRacePass has hired Scotty Cook to be the face and voice of SprintSource – a community for sprint car racing press releases, photos, videos, schedules, results and more.

“Most people in the sprint car world know Scotty Cook,” Holt said. “He’s definitely good at what he does. He’s very well liked throughout the racing community. He knows a lot of people and he’s going to have some fun with it. I think it’s exactly what SprintSource needs.”

Cook brings assorted media experience that he’s developed since a childhood spent following his grandparent’s team. An avid fan of the sport and its personalities, Cook changed from chasing races across the country to reporting when he began helping notable World of Outlaws announcer Johnny Gibson in the mid-1990s.

After catching a break by working for the TNN broadcast at the 1996 Knoxville Nationals, Cook was part of the TNN Motorsports production crew from 1996-2000 when he covered various World of Outlaws and NHRA events across the country. Within the past decade Cook has been the announcer at Capital Speedway (Holts Summit, Mo.), Missouri State Fair Speedway (Sedalia, Mo.), Central Missouri Speedway (Warrensburg, Mo.), Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, Mo.) and with the Winged Outlaw Warriors.

Most recently, Cook has worked with Racinboys to cover the ASCS National Tour during stints the past three seasons and has been a pit reporter for the famed Chili Bowl the past five years.

“I’m very grateful for the time I’ve been able to spend with Scott and Kirk from Racinboys and the exposure that it has provided for me,” he said. “Hopefully I can use that to pass along additional notability to SprintSource.”

Cook will have a weekly taped audio show and a weekly blog, which he will “touch on anything and everything pertaining to the world of sprint car racing.” Cook will also bring some creative ideas, including a monthly photo contest that will feature fans submitting pictures with a racer.

“My role will be to take a website that’s been developed by the trailblazers in web design for sprint car racing and just dress it up a little,” he said. “We’re throwing in the bells and whistles, the ketchup and mustard, and all the good stuff on it.

“I’d like to help generate more traffic for the website. It’s very user- and fan-friendly. I’m excited to take it to the next level, just dress it up a little and create a little more excitement and buzz about the site.”
