n 2005 AJ competed in the NASCAR Busch Series where he split seat time with brother Aaron Fike in the 43 CAPG Dodge. With AJ in the drivers seat of the #43 CAPG Dodge he had an impressive finish at Memphis where he crossed the checkers 21st. In his 7 NASCAR Busch series starts AJ's average finish was 29th.

AJ also found success racing in the ARCA Re/Max series. In cars prepared by former ARCA champion Andy Hillenburg, AJ finished 7th in the 2004 year end ARCA RE/MAX series points. In 22 ARCA RE/MAX series starts, AJ has 3 top 5 finishes and 9 top 10s with a career best finish 2nd place at Berlin.
