About David

Born in Fort Hood Amy base in Kellen Texas in 1965.
Moved a lot as a kid with my mom. It was not till the age of ten when I found the love of car's, started working for a small shop behind Merl's house as shop hand cleaning floors and taking apart broken cars. The owner told me to rebuild an air cooled motor one day & it was the best feeling ever to hear something I had built, come to life. I was hooked.... I learned how to drive by playing in dune buggies and went off road racing with Merl Lambert at age 12. I've raced 100 yard Sand Drags and Off Road at Texas off Road Racing Organization (TORRO). I started working at a VW shop a long time ago and have work at the local VW dealership for the 15 years. Now I work for a local shop called V-Dub Folks today still repairing all Euro brand of car's. My VW skills helped so much when I raced VW buggies and circle track bugs, We won close to 35 races in the 2 and a half years that we raced. 1992 came around and I stopped racing to raise my new baby girl and my oldest son, now jumping to 2007 setting track records at the local Speed Zone go-kart track, and coming in 2nd place in the Mazda Rev-It-Up driver's competition for the Dallas area several years ago. I even placed 2nd in an Equipe Rapide/Porsche Club AutoX my first and only time in a basically stock 1.8T Jetta Wagon Auto and now it was time to start racing, I had to get my rookie NASA road race license our first time out on the track at Motor Sports Ranch in Cresson Texas. My first rookie race, driving Ryan Logan's Factory Five Cobra car, I finished 3rd over all and 1st in class. NASA series director Clifton Winkleman was so impressed, he set me up a ride to drive with Blue Pony Racing in 2010. We set the fastest lap time at MSR-Houston & Took two 3rd and 2nd and a WIN first time driving a 2006 GT Mustang in American Iron series. I currently race in the Sprint Series of Texas, in the Wheels America sprint car #84, finishing 4th in points last year and I have raced in that series for 5 yrs. My wife and I do 95% of everything involved, including all repairs and building of the sprint car, from fab work to most of the painting and wrap, transporting to the track, and setting up the car.
Won the 2014 FALL CLASSIC OCTOBER 23rd - 25th placed 1st in the Sprint Series of Texas #84 Wheels America Sprint Placed 7th in points this year.
We have had 2 races in the Crate Late Model and place 2nd both races first time ever in that type of race car.
