Gage Pulkrabek defended home turf this past weekend as the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series rolled through his home region for a three-race swing.
The North Dakota native kicked things off Friday at River Cities Speedway, advancing to the main event with a solid sixth-to-fourth run in his heat race. Despite the strong start, Pulkrabek slipped back to finish 17th in the 30-lap feature.
Saturday at Red River Valley Speedway, Pulkrabek faced a tougher path. After a seventh-place heat finish, he bounced back with a runner-up effort in the Last Chance Showdown to earn a spot in the main event. Rolling off from the 10th row, he recorded a 21st-place finish.
His weekend came to an early end on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway following an incident in the 25-lap feature that forced him to retire from competition.
