I had a busy weekend of racing that did not end the way we wanted. Starting off at 34 Raceway with the PowrI series, I timed in 8th in my qualifying group and finished 2nd in my heat. This qualified for a starting spot in the feature out of the 43 cars in attendance. I finished 19th in the feature.
Next up was two days at Knoxville Raceway with the World of Outlaws. It was tough competition with 60+ 410s signed in each night. Friday night qualifying wasn't good and we chased the set up in the non-qualifier race so we called it an early night. Saturday qualifying was pretty similar and once again found myself in the non-qualifer where I finished 6th to start on the pole of the D-main. Then my night really tanked. Entering in to turn one while running 2nd, I was told something must have broke because my car turned straight into the wall and then flipped a few times. I was lucky that the cars behind me were able to avoid any contact, also.
I'm thankful for the track officials and safety crew for their quick response to help me get out and make sure all was good. Not much is good with the car but we are already rebuilding and look forward to being back in the seat.
