After wet weather postponed the USAC Eastern Storm opener at Grandview Speedway on Tuesday, Abby Hohlbein’s stretch of first-time visits to East Coast tracks began Wednesday with the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship event at Bridgeport Motorsports Park.
A sixth-place finish in her heat race secured her a spot in the night’s A-Main, where she advanced two positions in the 30-lap feature to finish 16th.
Hohlbein’s momentum was interrupted Thursday at Big Diamond Speedway after a lap-15 spin ended her run early. She rebounded on Friday at the famed Williams Grove Speedway, racing her way into the main event through her heat. However, her night came to a sudden end following a violent crash involving another
competitor on the opening lap. Fortunately, Hohlbein walked away from the incident unharmed.
