After Tuesday’s rainout at Grandview Speedway, Gunnar Setser joined the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship field on Wednesday night at Bridgeport Motorsports Park, as the New Jersey oval hosted the opening round of the USAC Eastern Storm.
Setser claimed a third-place finish in his heat, placing him on the ninth row for the feature. He advanced three positions to finish 14th in the main event.
On Thursday, Setser followed the series to Pennsylvania’s Big Diamond Speedway, where he recorded a 12th-place finish. The Indiana native returned to the Keystone State on Friday as Williams Grove Speedway hosted round three of the miniseries. There, he cracked the top 10 for the first time of the week with a ninth-place run.
Setser repeated that result Saturday at Port Royal Speedway, notching another ninth-place finish. He saved his strongest performance for Sunday’s finale at Action Track USA, where he started up front and led the opening eight laps of the feature before a late-race tangle relegated him to ninth—marking his third consecutive top-10 finish to close out the week.
