Lane Seratt returned to Southern Illinois Raceway this past week, making a last-minute decision to debut in the highly competitive Winged Outlaw division.
Taking on the Highbanks Hustle doubleheader, the Tennessee youngster entered the Driven Performance Midwest Winged Outlaws-sanctioned weekend at a disadvantage, running a stock motor against a top-tier field. Despite the handicap, Seratt gained a position in his heat race on Friday and went on to finish 11th in his B-Feature.
Armed with a day to regroup and adjust, Seratt made a statement on Saturday by leading every lap of his heat race to claim the win. In the consolation event, he needed a runner-up finish to advance to the A-Main, but his underpowered motor ultimately limited his charge. He held on for fifth, falling just short of a transfer spot.
While his weekend ended early, Seratt left a strong impression in his Winged Outlaw debut.
