"I like running before these great fans here at Wilmot," said Taylor after his second series win at Wilmot this season which was a back to back win after having won a American Sprint Car Tour main the night prior at Kankakee(IL) Speedway. "I like running the high side and was able to make it work. I have to thank my Dad, the Doherty family, car owner, sponsors, and my son, Corbin, who has helped a lot especially the last two days."
New Berlin's Scott Uttech, substituting for his daughter Trynity Uttech who is in Italy for college studies, held the point from his pole starting berth in the main. Hartford's Seth Johnson powered in front on the second circuit.
Cautions on laps 3, 6, 7 and 9 kept Johnson regrouping, but up to the challenge. With five laps remaining Taylor worked to the high side of the cushion in turns three and four to take the lead.
At the checkered it was Taylor taking the win pulling away. Tyler Kuxhouse of Antioch, IL edged out Johnson for second by less than half a second. Tim Cox of Park City, IL improved six spots to finish fourth. Miles Doherty of Delmar, IA, team car to Taylor, finished fifth improving 8 spots from his 13th starting spot earning the Behling Race Equipment Hard Charger.

Brian Strane Jr. of Paris, Wis. took the victory in the 11-75 Sports Complex & Eatery IRA Lightning Sprints 20-lap feature.
"It was a hard fought win," said the 15-year-old Strane following his second win at Wilmot and fourth of the year in the series. "Chad (Stouthamer) and I have raced a lot over the years, and it was fun going at it with him."
"I have to thank my parents, crew, and everyone who supports me," said Strane, admitting his lightning sprint is for sale because he wants to focus on running Badger Midgets. "We worked on the car all day and it finally paid off."
Stouthamer of Big Bend took the initial lead maintaining it through the only caution on lap 8. Two laps after the restart at the halfway point, Strane shot to the inside coming out of turn two momentarily taking the point. On the next lap, Stouthamer powered back in front for one circuit with Strane taking the lead for a final time on lap 8 going on to the win. Stouthamer came across second. Jordan Funderburk of Wadsworth, IL, who had a violent flip two weeks earlier, recovered strongly finishing third. Bristol's Tucker Richards earned the Behling Race Equipment Hard Charger Award improving four spots to finish fourth.
