WAYNESFIELD, Ohio –Max Stambaugh utilized a great strategy Thursday, July 3 at Waynesfield Raceway Park. The Lima, Ohio driver chased Jared Horstman for 17 laps, utilizing the bottom of the track while Horstman banged the cushion. In lapped traffic, Stambaugh jumped to the high line and drove around Horstman for the lead with just eight laps remaining and survived a green-white-checkered finish for his sixth Great Lakes Super Sprints win of 2025.

“I like the bottom when it comes in a little bit. Jared was spinning his tires a little bit coming off two and I think I got my wing back quicker than him. I knew when that yellow came out Jared would be tough for me. This is a banner year for Smith Motorsports,” said Stambaugh beside his Lochinvar Boilers, Sun Rise Archery, Jim Coffey & Sons Plumbing & Heating, Apex Powersports backed #71H.

Behind Stambaugh, the defending and three time GLSS champion, was Horstman, a five time series winner in 2025, eighth starter Dustin Daggett, Jac Nickles and 12th starter Mike Keegan.

Botkins, Ohio’s Dalton Lane took the lead from Scottie Williams on lap seven and held off a late race challenge from Tony Anderson in lapped traffic to score the DIRTcar UMP Modified win aboard his Hawk Farm and Drainage, Victory Machine, Connie Sidey Photography, Deb Egbert with AK Electric and Dominator Race Products backed #14.

In the Dirt Track Truck Series feature, Rolly Heyder from Galena, Ohio, took the lead on lap five and survived a scare when a lapped truck got into him, and drove to the win piloting the Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet, Feldman Auto Group, Gun Room, James Madison Insurance, Reichle Bros. Landscaping, BG Products backed #10.

Waynesfield Raceway Park will be back in action Saturday, Aug. 23 for the Nickles Brothers Classic featuring the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Valvoline Oil and the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds.
