Jack Dover picked up career win 39 with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series this past Friday at Rapid Speedway’s Outlaw Liberty Bowl. The $5,000 win was his first with the series on the 410 side in the Cressman Sanitation MSTS Outlaw Sprint Cars. The event was also the first time the speedway has hosted MSTS 410s, but 30th overall visit for the series at the track. The victory for Dover was his seventh in Rock Rapids under the MSTS banner – the most of any driver at that track.
The victory wasn’t easy for the driver who has the most win in overall MSTS history. The Estenson Racing #53 started sixth on the grid and moved up to fourth on the opening lap. By lap two, Dover was solidly in third.
Meantime, early leader, Lee Goos Jr., was a rocket from the pole positions, vaulting out to a more than 3 second lead. As Dover took second place from Trevor Serbus on lap 11, the then 2.8 second lead continued to grow until lap 14 when Dover changed to a diamond line on the east of the speedway. From there, that line and precision moves in traffic allowed Dover to close and move for the lead on lap 19.
From there, Jake Bubak was the driver on the move. The Colorado native was able to get one look to the inside of Dover who then picked up his pace on the final lap to secure the win ahead of Bubak Goos, Serbus and Justin Jacobsma.
Goos won the American Truck Store heat race with Dominic Dobesh picking up the membership award for that event. The Med-Star heat was won by Jacobsma with Dover taking member’s honors. Blaine Stegenga won the Precision Drywall heat and took the member’s award. Dylan Peterson took home a $100 bonus from A Plus Towing & Repair while Stegenga received the $100 random draw award from A&B Auto.
