Inside Line Promotions – SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (July 7, 2025) – A four-race weekend is on tap for Kaleb Johnson.
The Team DGRD driver will join the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Thursday at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., during the Deer Creek Clash. It marks his debut at the dirt oval.
“I’ve been there to watch, but never raced there,” he said. “I’m excited for Thursday. It looks like it’ll be a blast. It’s nice and wide and gets super slick so I’m looking forward to that.”
A trip to Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., on Friday showcases the Hefty Seed Merle Johnson Memorial with the Cressman Sanitation Midwest Sprint Car Series 410 Sprint Cars. The event is named after Johnson’s grandfather and is the kickoff to the three-race Border Battle with additional events on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, and Sunday at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D.
“Personally, it carries a lot of meaning because my grandpa was such a huge supporter of my racing career,” he said. “To be able to honor him for the third year in a row is cool. I’ve been close to winning it before so that gives me some confidence.
“At Knoxville, if we could just get qualified good we’d set ourselves up for the rest of the night. We’ve had moments where we have speed and have proven we can pass cars. We are focused on adding that to the beginning of the night to set ourselves up better.
“As for Huset’s, to be honest, I have a sour taste from our last two nights we raced there during the High Bank Nationals. I’m looking forward to going back there and having some speed and running up front where we belong.”
Johnson enters the weekend ranked ninth in the Knoxville Raceway championship standings and first in the Huset’s Speedway championship standings.
