Busy Week at Eldora Speedway Begins Wednesday
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (07/15/25) – Ryan Timms’ breakout season in the 410 Sprint Car ranks continued this past weekend as the Oklahoma City native picked up two more wins behind the wheel of the Liebig Motorsports / Hampel Oil / West River Trailer Sales & Service No. 10 Maxim Chassis entry.
Timms led the final 16 laps of Friday’s Hefty Seed Merle Johnson Memorial at Jackson Motorplex before charging from seventh-to-first in Sunday’s finale at Huset’s Speedway. He grabbed the lead from Jy Corbet on lap 18 and never looked back, securing his fourth win of the season at the South Dakota oval and ninth overall victory of the 2025 campaign.
“At the beginning I thought I was going to have a few more options to get runs,” Timms said in Huset’s Speedway’s SeaFoam Victory Lane. “I didn’t think it was going to be so fast around the top. I just filed in. Once we got to lapped traffic a couple of those guys got to battling and screwed up. I just picked them off in traffic. Man, this race car is so fast.”
The tripleheader weekend began Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Minnesota, where Timms took on the Cressman Sanitation Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 Sprint Cars during the Merle Johnson Memorial presented by DKW Transport. After topping his time trial group, he finished third in his heat and fifth in the dash. Capitalizing on a lead-swapping battle ahead of him in the A-Main, Timms surged to the front on lap nine and led the rest of the 25-lap affair to pocket the $10,000 winner’s check.
“It’s pretty awesome,” Timms said after Friday’s night’s win at Jackson. “This race track was really awesome. This was the best I’ve ever seen this place. It’s really cool to see it and win here. It’s really cool to win the Merle Johnson Memorial. Shoutout to the whole Johnson Family.”
On Saturday, Timms returned to Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway in pursuit of his fifth 410 Sprint Car win of the season at the famed half-mile. After finishing fifth in his heat race, he advanced from 10th to fourth in the 25-lap main event.
The weekend wrapped up Sunday at Huset’s Speedway with Timms collecting his ninth win of the year. Starting the Hall of Fame Night feature in seventh, he quickly worked his way forward and executed a textbook slider in turns three and four on lap 18 to seize the lead and ultimately the win.

The momentum continues into the weekend with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series invading for the 42nd annual Kings Royal on Friday and Saturday.
