After Thursday’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event at Deer Creek Speedway was rained out, Christopher Thram opened his weekend on Friday at Jackson Motorplex for the $10,000-to-win Merle Johnson Memorial presented by DKW Transport.
Returning to a track where he recently found victory lane in the 2024 360 Sprint Car portion of the FENDT Jackson Nationals, Thram started strong by charging from third to first in his heat race and finishing fourth in the dash. He led two early laps in the 25-lap feature before ultimately finishing fourth, trailing only Ryan Timms, Ian Madsen, and Kaleb Johnson, with Kerry Madsen rounding out the top five.
On Saturday, Thram traveled to Knoxville Raceway, where he followed up a seventh-place heat finish with a 17th-place result in the main event.
He wrapped up the weekend on Sunday with an eighth-place finish during Hall of Fame Night at Huset’s Speedway.
