Boom! Dobmeier takes Huset’s victory

Mark Dobmeier took the lead of Sunday’s Dollar Loan Center Outlaw Sprint feature on lap 15 and drove to the victory.

“I tell you what, I can’t be more proud of this team. It’s all new over the winter. We’ve got this thing rocking and rolling,” said the driver of the #13 in victory lane.

Tim Kaeding took the lead from Joe Riedel on the fourth lap and ran up front until the engine expired on the number 3.

At the finish, it was Dobmeier over Logan Forler, Dusty Zomer, Austin McCarl and Ryan Bickett.

Shon Pointer led all 18 laps of the IMCA Racesaver Sprint Car feature event. It was the first ever visit to the speedway for the driver out of Grand Island, Nebraska. Adam Gullion drove from sixth to finish second ahead of Dusty Ballenger, Robby Wolfgang and Casey Abbas.

An action packed Bolte’s Rolloff Service Street Stock feature had the #22 of Gary Brown Jr. taking the lead on lap 13 as Darrin Korthals went to the infield with mechanical issues. Korthals led laps 7 through 12 with Jesse Akkerman leading the opening six laps.

Nick Barger drove from fourth on the starting grid to the lead of the USRA B-modified feature in just five laps. Early lead, Dustin Kruse, slowed during the race with heavy smoke and sparks coming from his #6K.

In hobby stock action, Chad Kuhnert made it two for two by leading the duration of the event. Kuhnert had to hold off a late challenge from Chad Lonneman.

Next up is Sea Foam night at Huset’s Speedway with an extra $1,000 in the payout for the micro sprints. Race time on Sunday is 7 p.m.
