Scotty Thiel and the Scott Thiel Motorsports team pulled into the Manitowoc County Fairgrounds last Friday night after the two week span of not racing. The crew put together a brand new Triple X Chassis just the night before and burned the midnight oil to have everything complete for a two day race weekend. Friday night, July 22nd, Scotty Thiel and the #64 STM Sprint Car made the trip to the Manitowoc County Speedway. Thiel started and finsihed 4th in the heat race event and would allow him to start on the pole of the night's 30 lap A-Main event. Taking the green for A-main, Scotty jumped out to the early lead. The hot streak of top 5 finishes for Scotty Thiel and the #64 STM Sprint car came to a close this past weekend after two nights of bad luck struck the team. After a rainout at the Manitowoc County Expo Speedway on Friday June 10th occured, the Scott Thiel Motorsports crew went hard to work to prepare for a 7 hour haul to Brainerd, Minnesota with the UMSS series. Mother Nature only allowed the STM crew to race at the Manitowoc County Speedway this past weekend. Scotty drew a high number and started 9th in the heat race. A fast and tacky race track made it difficult to pass, but Thiel still managed to finish 6th and secured a 16th starting position in the night's 30-lap A-Main event.
