Scotty Thiel received a phone call on Tuesday afternoon from fellow driver Kurt Davis to take the wheel of his other car for Wednesday evenings Chilton Throwdown Race with the MSA Series. Scotty’s #64 car did not have a motor back yet and he decided to take up the opportunity and see what he could do. At 4:30PM Friday afternoon, the #64 STM sprint car did not have a motor in the car. Shortly after, the team owners pulled into the shop with the motor and the team began to hustle to get the motor in the car and get up to the Manitowoc County Expo Speedway in time to race that evening’s event. A weekend off of racing for the Scott Thiel Motorsports team made for an eager night to get back to the track. Saturday night brought the team to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI to run their ascs 360 car with the IRA 410 Sprint Car Series. After the previous weekend getting rained out, the STM #64 Sprint car returned back to racing action at the Manitowoc County Speedway Friday night and the Plymouth Dirt Track Saturday night. Scotty drew a 27 pill Friday at Manitowoc and would start 5th in his heat race event. The race would go green to checkered and not a lot of passing was taking place.
