The RUBY Award was designed to celebrate the fact that the Great Lakes Bay Region area is enriched with young professionals who have reached success at an early age.
The award recognizes men and women younger than 40 who have made their mark in a wide range of professions and enterprises including international, national and statewide corporations, local business, government, education, medical and nonprofit business.

TCMS was purchased at auction by Steve Puvalowski

Steve's lifelong passion led him to purchase TCMS at auction and start renovations to re-open and revive Friday night racing in Auburn.

2004

Tri-City Motor Speedway Closed

In 2004, the previous track owners closed TCMS and it sat empty for 6 years.
Tri-City Motor Speedway closed for business in 2004 while Steve's passion for racing grows by the day.

1988

Tri-City Motor Speedway re-paved

Tri-City Motor Speedway 1/2 and 1/4 mile are repaved under the new management of Boyd Upton and company.

1965

Tri-City Motor Speedway adds 1/2 mile

Tri-City Motor Speedway adds 1/2 mile asphalt track.
Al Baker went to Daytona International Speedway and wanted to add a tri-oval. He came back to Tri-City and starting laying the track out until he ran into the neighboring junk yard property. He then had to modify the design to what is known as the 5 turn trick-track. The 1/2 mile was paved when it was built and the 1/4 mile was paved at that same time.

Tri-City Motor Speedway Opens as 1/4 Mile Dirt

Tri-City Motor Speedway Opens as 1/4 Mile Dirt Track built by Al Baker.

1946

Auburn Coal Mine Closes

Auburn Coal Mine Closed in 1946 after it's opening in 1901. The geographic area was known for it's coal in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Auburn was known as Wolverine #3. Coal was a depth of 170' and approximately 200 acres was mined out underground.
